Marking logos and lot no's on transistors

Conceptual Image of Marking
Overview
Customer logos and lot no's are marked on the resin molded sections of power transistors.

Conventional Method & Associated Problems
In the past, the client used a UV-hardening sealer. However, products marked with garbled logos were delivered to the market, resulting in a recall of all the affected products.
Printing data had to be changed for each customer, requiring a large amount time and labor.
Advantages of Laser Markers
The ML-G's non-contact laser marking achieves clear characters without missing or faded sections.
Since marking data can be registered in memory, product changeover is made easy providing significant reductions in man-hours.
Improved Quality & Enhanced Corporate Image
POINT
UV sealers are prone to producing blurred characters. Once the resin is hardened, correction is impossible.
UV Sealer Blurred characters cannot be corrected

Cutting Electric Cable Sheath

Conceptual Image of Marking
Overview
The sheath of an electric cable is cut for easy stripping.

Conventional Method & Associated Problems
In the past, the client used cutting tools with blades. The problem with this was that it was difficult to adjust the force with which the blades hit, and sometimes the conductor wire was damaged or cut.
Advantages of Laser Markers
The ML-G can be adjusted to cut the sheath only. The ability to adjust power settings incrementally, ensures reliable operation.
Improved Quality & Productivity
POINT
Only sheath is cut. No damage to the conductor.

Marking Bar Codes on PC Boards

Conceptual Image of Marking
Overview
A bar code is marked on the empty area of a PC board and used for progress management.

Conventional Method & Associated Problems
In the past, an operator manually checked the progress schedule and did the changeover work (i.e. setting the chip mounter). Problems occurred when an operator performed an incomplete check, which resulted in an incorrect shipment of products. This caused serious backlash at their customer.
Advantages of Laser Markers
The ML-G can mark bar codes for progress management directly onto the PC board. This effectively reduces human errors during product changeovers.
Improved Quality & Productivity
POINT
The process can be automated by connecting the laser marker with an external device via the RS-232C.
