A laser marker can cut the sheath only, without damaging the conductor at all. Since there are no problems with blade wear, the same cut can be made every time, ensuring consistent quality.

Cable sheaths are cut with the heat of a laser beam which scans at high speed. Since the laser beam can be applied at any point within a 110 x 110 mm square there is no need to move the cable. It is also possible to cut both sides of flat cables cleanly and quickly by using a mirror.
