Light that is visible to the human eye, measuring in wavelength from 380 nm to 780 nm. Normally, light exists in a mixed state with various rays of visible light. When this occurs, light appears as a color that is close to white.
Using a prism to split the light will produce a constant change of colors ranging from blue-violet, violet, blue-green, green, yellow-green, yellow, yellow-red (orange), to red in order from shortest to longest wavelength. This arrangement of color is also called the spectrum.
